Hi,
I know that this is for disability legal advice but I am having trouble finding someone to help me with an automobile accident which seemed to put my disease in "high gear". Do you know of information or perhaps an organization or lawyer that could help me? I am not happy with the settlement they have offered me and am aware that most lawyers probably don't know much about this disease or the impact an accident can have on it.
Thank you for your help,
Amanda.

Thanks for your advice. They only offered me $1100 for pain and suffering. The adjuster said he will send my info to the department that handles people with these sorts of diseases but I am not convinced I am going to be offered something that I think is fair. My doctor has written a letter for me explaining the impact it has had on my disease and the monetary impact of having a disease like AS.

keep on fighting them what ins are you dealing with im dealing with progressive ins and did talk with a lawyer who told me that they do not even try to talking with them they take them strait to court. The adjuster im dealing with had told me in the begining that she had documantation stating from my rummys that the auto accident sent my as into overdrive but now is claming that she never said that and that she dont have any of my records from my rummys so document every thing and get all you records for your self and high light every thing that has changed since your accident (med changes, body changes, ect.) also they are supost to pay $20 a day for house cleaning if you are un able to do it for two years. you can talk with a lawyer and get more advise. Do you know what the max is on your claim if not ask the addjuster and make a counter offer for the maxium amount then they might come back with something a little more resonable good luck and let me know how it goes and i will do the same good luck and god bless

Hi, Manda. Sorry to hear about the accident. You may wish to contact, for example, the Texas state bar association or perhaps the bar association in Houston to find the name of a competent attorney who could assist you in your claim.
