If I didn't have AS, I would think I was having a heart attack. Ugh! This sucks! I wish the rain would just move in already so we can get this overwith. frown

It wouldn't hurt to have it checked out. You can have AS and a heart attack.

I just recently had cardiac testing, so I don't think it's heart-related. Seems to be worse because of the rain.

I have had 3 false heart attacks. All turned out to be chest wall pain from AS.

I have this all the time. For years I thought it was my heart and tried to ignore it. Then we had some recent deaths in our family (heart related) and I went in for some testing and was told I am ok. My cardio Dr. was familiar was AS and she knew what I was talking about. I go see her yearly now.

Weekly Humira, Meloxicam, MTX, Folic Acid plus a few other non AS related meds. I have hip, knee, shoulder, feet, hand, sternum, and rib pain daily.

Yea, I had a severe costochondritis attack a couple of years ago, and the pain was incredible! Ended up in the emergency room, and had to deal with staff that thought I was a drug seeker. Was finally given morphine and was able to go home at midnight and get some sleep. I've had low-grade costo pain since then, but nothing as bad as that first attack. Hope you feel better soon!

Nitroglycerine is a vasodilator, most often used to treat angina, which is chest pain related to narrowing of blood vessels. Hard to imagine how it would help spondy-related pain except as a placebo.

Between costo and oesphageal spasm, sometimes I think it might even be easier if it WAS heart pain - at least you can take nitro for that. (and like others, I have been checked out negative by ER several times for it).
