I've been just recently diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Tons of stuff run in my family; Lupus, cancers, severe RA. So it's not too surprising but still tiring.

I'm not really sure about anything at this point. It's just the start. I try to take things one step at a time.

I am currently 21, unable to work for the time being and trying to get disability figured out.

I have a lot of time on my hands and find that I am pretty lonely lately.

Just looking for people my age, in a similar situation to speak to or something.

Hi Tinta, I to have recently been diagnosed with AS. I am currently 24 years old and had been suffering with varying symptoms for the past 4 years. I feel the same way you do. No one in my family has it, I guess I was just the lucky one. This diagnosis can make you feel alone but I know these message boards will help. If you ever need to talk I'm open.

Stephanie

Hi Tinta,

it's nice to meet you. My name is Vetty and I'm sorry you're struggling so greatly. But do hope that your docs can find something to help with the pain etc.

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and though I haven't been diagnosed with AS, I did test positive to HLA-B27 and I suspect I have some kind of SpA.

AS is in my family though (my grandfather and 2 of my cousins on mum's side).

I hope you find some help and support on these boards. smile

Vetty

Hiya. I'm 20 and I understand where you are at. Been there but I changed my outlook on how I project my pain. I just become a total goofball nut. You can come to me on off days, I'll be there to talk smile

Hey there, I'm 31 and have been dealing with this since I was 27, although only diagnosed in the last few months. At least you are catching it early, because it gets worse over time without treatment. Biologics should at least stop if from progressing.
