Hi from the UK.
I'm writing to ask for some advice.
Having been diagnosed in 2004, my AS has only recently started to become a painful problem which appears to be slowly spreading.
My rheumatologist has suggested I move from Naproxen onto Cosentyx, but having read about the different side effects people are suffering from - and they seem to be plenty - I'm not so sure.
What do other people take and what are the pros and cons you've faced.

Many thanks
Paul

Enbrel. No serious side effects. Initially I had injection site reactions (hives at injection site, lasted a few months) and dry mouth (lasted a few weeks). I still sometimes get mild nausea and a headache on the day I inject, but they're trivial. I still have to take naproxen occasionally when the pain bleeds through, no more than a few a month though. Don't be afraid of biologics in general. Serious side effects are rare, rarer than the serious side effects of NSAIDs.

Just curious: Did your doctor tell you why he/she recommends Cosentyx, as opposed to Humira or Enbrel which have been on the market longer?

I take Humira. Zero side effects.

Until recently I was taking indocin for breakthrough pain and for OA pain. It was beginning to cause stomach issues so my rheumy changed me to celebrex at my last visit.

I was on Cosentyx for over a year. It worked much better for than any of the anti-TNFs (and I have been on them all). I see an AS researcher (Dr. Reveille) and he says that Cosentyx is safer than anti-TNFs, in terms of infection risks.
I had no side effects at all on Cosentyx. The injections were not painful. No injection site reactions. No increase in infections. Unfortunately, after a year and a half, it stopped working for me.

Many thanks to everyone for your comments.
After a lot of thought - coupled with a rough few days and the belief that the condition is worsening - I'm meeting my Rheum. next week as a first step to taking Cosentyx.
Overall I feel positive about things and look forward to my beloved AS being held in check.
Thanks once more.
