Hello, I have AS and am very new to the disease. 2 weeks ago I had a regular crick in my neck from sleeping and it turned into this bigger issue of a pinched nerve and problems in my shoulder. Has anyone else ever noticed things that used to take 2 days to heal taking way longer?

Sure. For me, I assume it’s either part of living with a chronic inflammatory disease or getting older. For those of us that are fusing, then i think new pains -particularly around the spine- should be checked out since we are at increased risk for fractures.

Hope that helps and you find some relief for your neck.

Posture -even while sleeping- is important to me.

Thanks for the info. I'm 37 so things do happen because of age but others are definitely because of AS. I had a CT of my pelvis done recently and it didnt show anything. I've been on Celebrex and Gabapentin for awhile. I use tramadol for pain since I cant take anymore NSAIDs. All this only dulls the pains and things. I try to eat clean as well. It looks like we will be trying a biologic very soon. It would be nice to only have to do that and get off pills. I definitely have figured out from reading these forums that AS affects everyone differently. I appreciate talking to other people with AS, only they really can understand

I've been on Enbrel only for nearly six years without pills and I was 90% pain-free.
