Hello White Cell,
Today i was diagnosed with bilateral PVD at age of 38 which is not so normal.
So I have to watch out now if no complications I guess and let it run and accept all the additional floaters.
From your extensive experience can you give me some advice?
Thank you

Are you seeing an ophthalmologist and what do they say?

They say it is pretty normal in the general population. No sign of retinal detachment or tear. No inflammation. Just more floaters.
I am not sure I should continue swimming ...

Exerxcise is so so important in managing joint lubrication Doing whst we love so so important..... quality of life :-). Do you wear goggles when you swim? Maybe take smaller steps first before you eliminate swimming.:-)

Several ideas come to mind.

Ask if swimming goggles would be an advantage or would they place pressure on the eye itself. I would have routine visits with your doctor to evaluate andy changes as time goes forward.

In googling PVD, it recommends that one avoids strenuous exercise for 6 months upon starting. Since it siunds like you normally swim that your vascular system would not sense it's strenuous since you can manage your pace as an experienced swimmer. I would ask your opthomologist or a pharmacist for their opinion. It sounds like its the increased vascular pressure that can occur with strenuous exercise is the reason for 6 month recommendation. Need time for the medication to protect your eyes, time for rx to take effect. Good Luck and thanks for sharing your story.
