I am HlaB27 positive, so was my dad. He is from Irish, my mom from swedish descent.
In Dr. Khan's book, "Ankylosing Spondylitis, the facts", he writes that, "most people with AS have a gene called HLA-B27. In people with with AS this gene is found in over 90% of northern Europeans, about 80% of Mediterranean people, and about 50% of African-Americans. In people without AS this gene is present in only 8% of whites in the US and 2-3% of African-Americans"

When I saw this topic on the board, it said there were 13 messages in the thread and the last poster was CB in CA, but when I opened it up, the last post was by Tommi and I only counted 10 messages. Is there a 2nd page which is somehow invisible to me temporarily?

By the way, my ancestry is mostly Irish, English, Austrian, French and German.

I have been saying for years that it would be an interesting idea to do a genealogical database for ASers, to see if we could use the genetic marker to both find out how we are all inter-related and also to track the HLA-B27 marker back to its origins.
