Lewis, I think I remember from one of your early posts that you mentioned "turning to alcohol" when your health began to go down. I don't know if that means alcohol is an issue for you, but if so it's probably best to abstain. If not, then a glass or two of wine should be OK.

As for the anxiety, why don't you talk to your GP about it? There may be something s/he can give you. You might also look into meditation. Yoga can be very calming, and it's also good for heart and for spondy, so that would be a triple win. Just make sure to listen to your body to work within your limitations. And if the anxiety is really intense, you might consider seeing a counselor to help you with coping techniques.
