In all of my reading of the posts here, all I've ever heard on the enbrel injections was 1 x a week. I was just wondering if I'm the only person injecting 25 mg of enbrel twice a week instead of 50 mg 1 x a week.

Sorry Ann, I am a once a weeker at 50mg. Have you always been on the twice a week or had you tried the once a week in the past?

My son who is 23 has been doing 2x per week since 2004. He has occasionally done both injections on the same day so it would last for a week before going on a trip and not wanting to carry it with him.

Cosmo, I've always done twice a week since my first injection. I was just getting concerned since it seems that everyone else only injects once a week.

Thank you Soley1 and Caondrusek for your responses! It is reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one who does the 25 mg. twice weekly. I've also always wondered if the reason for that was so that it would stay in my system more evenly.

Thanks for your replies.

For one year of 50 mg injecting once a week after it stopped
working my Dr. had me try 25mg inject twice week. Another year has passed and I had a bad flare in June. After cortisone shot I resumed twice week Enbrel and so far it makes my life livable. I also use Indomethecin at bedtime but not every night. If during day something really hurts I take Tramadol.

Until recently I had been injecting 25mg twice a week since 2002. My rheumy suggested, when the 50 mg once a week shot came out, to not change. We didn't want to fix something that wasn't broken because the Enbrel was working so well.

(I had to switch to Humira recently, not because Enbrel wasn't working well, but because they felt Humira would get my colitis in control.)
