Survived -- 4 ice pack day.

Great service.

Now - crash - relax or whatever...

So glad I went to the service. Great closure. Even my mother showed up. Awesome support.

Since this seems to be transient, maybe magnesium [and/or calcium might be the answer, but do think of the metabolic myopathies. The reason I suggest it is that AS seems to have common genetic roots and if my illness has shown up a couple of genetic glitches that cause something like that, then maybe you have something similar.
A casual survey in spondyville a while back showed most of us had Germanic origins.
[I also note that we all tend to look vaugely similar [spondyland photos] one big family -- Hi!

Here is a linc which might be helpful in your quest

Who should I talk to about this? What kind of a specialist would rule out or find out our having this aspect of the AS in our genes?

The best way is probably to go through all the symptoms you have and to see how your diet is involved and maybe a little trialling of particular vitamins.
Usually they test for individual genes or lack of/or excess of particular substances so they need all the help they can get.
Usually the quest for answers is a long and expensive task.
If there is a cheaper easier way I would like to know myself!.
My suggestion is to go through the diseases one by one and find out what fits best [a very long process] and then maybe your Doctor will get in touch with a geneticist.
A lot of these things rely very heavily on you finding out for yourself what is affecting you adversely. -and then finding someone who can interpret it.

LOL - yes, mother.

Sleep specialist - Do NOT sleep more than 8 hours. Got me on Mirapex for a while.

Also, (I already decided now that I'm not so STRESSED anymore - I'm on the wagon) -- no alcohol too close to bedtime -- well I won't have to worry about that anymore.

Found out my vitamin levels have dropped since I was so out of whack and stressed -- I need to double up my Iron, double up Vit. D (the capsules don't work - now using 4000 IU liquid drops), double up the Calcium, and pray they get back to normal in 3 months.

My pain level is normal.

I feel so much better now that I know where I'm at and need to follow everything by the book.

Guess my brain needed to restart and now gonna work on the physical aspect -- muscles are protesting quite a bit and will rest up!
