I was one of the lucky ones to get my disability on the first try. I applied in July, after my husband lost his job and I didn't know how we were going to pay for my meds. I did not have to see their docs or get a lawyer. I consider myself blessed, the Lord was looking out for me for sure. According to the letter they said my back was severe and I was awarded disability. The bad news is I have to go have another epidural injection tomorrow. First one lasted 3 weeks. According to the dr. when I saw him on Monday, I am going to have pain as long as I live, no duh! Even with surgery he says pain would be with me. I just want to have tolerable pain, not crying pain. Any way. I just wanted you all to know you can get disability. I thought it would take years, like my cousin and friends I know. I praise the Lord for his goodness

Jackie, how great to hear that people who truly need disability actually get it the first time they apply!! I guess I am different, I see the epidural as good news ... the fact that the first one lasted 3 weeks is very encouraging! I've had so many I lost count, but none ever helped me. I hope this one will give you even longer lasting relief.

I'm glad you were awarded so quickly. I'm one of unlucky ones that is still waiting after 1.5 years.
My doctor says I stuck with pain forever too. ugh.

Serena, I am sorry yours is taking so long. Someone ay my husbands office helps those that are being denied. If you can find someone like that and not an attorney you can save time and money.

Thats scary low blood pressure. Glad it came up quickly enough. Good news about the disability too.
Cauda equina type neurogenic bladder problems. Coeliac disease. Sicca syndrome. Ataxic gait and use crutches. Non-specific gut problems. Current treatment: Low dose naltrexone, low starch diet (Guts shredded by NSAIDs. Previously diclofenac worked well, not eligible for anti-tnfs, hypersensitivity to SSZ). Also short bursts of pred for bad flares

I actually thought I might die. I called a nurse friend and she suggested fluids. So far this injection has not helped.

Jackie, you need to talk to your doctor to find out why your blood pressure dropped so low. You may have a reaction to the medicine they injected you with. If so, you may not want to do that again. Take care!
