Hi everyone! Just an update on my health. I've been on Sulfasazine since February and I have been doing pretty good. As of right now I'm in the middle of a flare. Symptoms are neck and shoulder pain right side only. Foot and heel pain right side. Also lower back stiffness. Sometimes I feel depressed because I've gained a lot of weight because I can't exercise but I am grateful that I finally found a doctor who believed me and is willing to help me.

Hang in there Liz. I'm glad you've found a doctor you can work with.

Have you tried water activity - swimming, water aerobics, etc - as a way to stay active? It makes a world of difference for me.

Thanks You guys! Today has been better and yes Ginny my husband and I have been discussing me doing water exercise. It's good to know that it had helped you so I will probably look into it this week.

I do water aerobics 3 times a week in a heated pool at our local senior citzens center. At 53, I'm the youngest in the group - ha! I can honestly say that there are times where I thought I felt too tired, too sore, too whatever, to go exercise, but once I get in the water and start doing the movements, I actually start feeling better. I've always been a couch potato, but I can definitely say that getting active has made a difference for me.

good luck Liz. I had some success with Humira and it was easy to use. I could not take the sulfasalazine it made me very ill. A lot of folks on this board have used it with great success though. Keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks so much Sebeth! I pray you are doing well with your journey. I have had no issues with Sulfasazine. So I was disappointed that my sed rate had increased. No happy to have to give my self injections but I will do what I have to do to not feel like so much pain.

yeah, shots are no fun. I used to be very afraid of needles so when I started doing the home injections with Enbrel many moons ago I had to work up the nerve every time. Was terrified of the autoinjects when they came out but now I love them. I'm on Simponi currently and really like it. Sending happy thoughts your way!

Well had my first injection of Humira today and it went well. I was nervous but the nurse helped calm me down and gave me a lot of good information. It stung initially but other than that it has been ok. Will keep you updated with how it's going!
