I am so afraid to share the news............don't want to jinx myself. But I thought I could at least share this good news w/all of you.

I started Cimzia last month. Did one shot May 15. My upper back pain, which has been w/me for seven years, has been tamed (not gone but tamed). My lower back still hurt but WOW my upper back pain.....I can't remember when it felt so good.

So, on May 29 I did the two shots of Cimzia (will do two shots from now on, once a month). Five days later my lower back pain is gone. I am happy. Thrilled. How long this will last? I don't know, but I have been so grateful for these past few days of decreased back pain.

Now I need to keep reminding myself to take it slow. I want to do EVERYTHING I haven't been able to do.........which is take proper care of my family. Slow and steady.....slow and steady.

I just took my 2nd dose of Cimzia on Tuesday (6/3/14) and I'm waiting to see if my quality of life improves . . . ! Happy thoughts, happy thoughts. The Enbrel had been doing pretty good, actually, so I'm not sure why my new rheumy wanted to jump to Cimzia instead. Does anyone know - has there been better responses with Cimzia overall? I am all for trying the newest thing if people respond better .

Are there others trying Cimzia now?

Cimzia has a lot more flexibility in dosing (without going off label) than do many of the other Bios. Its fairly unusual to fix something that isn't broken so I'd be asking your Doc why.

I've been on Cimzia for 6 months (PsA) and it's going well. It's not as good a response as I had with Humira, but it's better than nothing. Still doing it as 2 shots each month. Tried one month with one shot every two weeks, but it wasn't too good, in my opinion, so back to the monthly dose. Rheumy said that's how they tested it (2 shots each month), so that's what I'm sticking with for now. Never made it past 9 months on any biologic (this is my 5th), so cautiously hoping for the best, too, without jinxing myself. Hope your luck continues.

Psoriatic Arthritis, Osteoporosis HLAB27+
MTX, gabapentin, strontium citrate
Cosentyx from Oct to Dec 2017. Then back to Cimzia in May 2018.
Already tried Remicade, Enbrel, Simponi, Humira, Cimzia, Cosentyx.

Wonderful! I'm so happy for you J! I know what you mean about how unimaginably glorious it feels to be free from pain. The pain I've had from this newly-diagnosed AS I can measure in days, so I know I'm lucky. I can't imagine what it is to feel this kind of pain for years. (shudder) It must be sheer joy to have relief after having pain so long. I will keep you in my thoughts that it keeps working.
