Maybe eight years ago my left knee swelled over and over again. After the rheumatologist drained my knee for the third time he referred me for a synovectomy. After the surgery, a report on the biopsy came back positive for PVNS. My knee still swells a bit but it's not as bad as it was before. PVNS is supposed to be somewhat rare and has a tendency to recur so I wonder if anyone else has had this Dx.

I also have third degree heart block which developed right after a bout with the dreaded shingles. I have a pacemaker to make the bottom of my heart pump. Heart block, according to a paper I read at the NIH, is associated with HLA-B27.

I've not heard of PVNS before. I'm glad the surgery helped some.

Various heart conduction issues can be associated with AS, along with aortic root issues.

I'm sorry you are having to deal with these additional issues on top of AS. Let's hope you don't accumulate any more acronyms. smile
