Hi Blondie!
I live in Erie, PA and have had the same problem finding a good doctor in the area. I've had AS for over ten years and was diagnosed last year after seeking out a doctor to diagnose me. I visited Dr. Muhammed Khan in Cleveland and he placed me on the right track (He is very well informed about AS and he's a patient himself). With his diagnosis, he contacted a doctor in the area to prescribe my Anti-TNF drugs. The local doctor doesn't know much about the disease and I simply use him as a proxy in the interum as I seek out another doctor. Send me a private message and maybe we can combine forces to find a well-informed doctor. I'm currently working a connection in Pittsburgh. I'm looking forward to speaking with you about it. Best regards, Craiger

Khan will diagnose and treat AS (With regard to getting on the right TNF drugs to slow progression), however he won't treat your pain. Does anyone know of a good pain management specialist in Erie, Pittburgh, Buffalo, or Cleveland? I'm currently being undertreated and it's reaking havoc on my personal and professional life. Anyone have any input?

The one I went to in Erie was listed in the Spondylitis Assoc. magazine but actually pulled out a book to "read" to me about the disease. I have already done that on my own. Lol! As the disease seems to be going to my feet & ankles now I am going to search the one out it Pittsburgh. Will let you know if I have any luck.

Blondie, If you can make it to the Elmira, NY area (about 3 hours east of Jamestown) I would recommend Dr. James Freeman at Interal Medicine of the Southern Tier. He treats my AS and helps me manage my pain.
