I am posting this in hopes of helping a friend of mine. Seven years ago she gave birth to a large baby, about 10 pounds. On top of that, she was a bit older, 40, I think. Neither is outrageous, but ever since she has had a problem.

Having sex is so painful for her that she has given up. I guess she's been to several doctors including an ob/gyn, urologist, neurologist, psychologist, etc. She has tried lubricant and such. (One doctor even told her to use Orajel to dull her nerves....she found out it made her husband numb as well, therefore defeating the purpose. eek ) It appears she has damaged nerves in her cervix.

This has started to affect her marriage and I am worried about her. My babies were small, just about 6 pounds, so I have no idea what she went through.

I have read about some novel treatments for these things, but I can't remember where I read it or what the treatments were. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks!
Michelle

I'm not a doctor, I'm just married to the cutest male nurse around. Does that count as a medical opinion?

Hi !
I think she could get sown down there again after a surgery. The bif Baby must have done some big big tears.
A good obstetrician should be able to help her !

PS: I delivered my baby a little over a year ago. 3 major tears. And my OB offered this option to me. I do not feel that I need it, but it is there as an option
