My Grandmother is 88 and I manage all her health care for her. She has 6 vertebrae that are degenerated and if she was younger, they would do surgery. But at her age, surgery is NOT an option. Physical therapy would only make it worse. They did Radiofrequency Ablation on her and it was a miracle "cure". It is only temporary...about 1 year as the nerve, will grow back eventually. It burns the nerve that is pinched (hers was C4 C5)and therefore cuts off the signal of pain. Her pain radiated from her back down her leg to her foot. At her leg, she suffered pain and numbness. That completely went away after the ablation as well as her back pain. She was at a point that she no longer could walk and was thinking of ending her life.
Not sure if this is ideal for her but please look into it.
Best regards,
Christie
ps. I have inherited my AS from her lineage (her mother had it) but she is has never been diagnosed with it.
