I am HLA-B27 negative also. I have AS and Reiter's.
It is funny there are all of these "Camps" of what exactly causes these diseases. The only real truth is that they still seem to be a mystery!
8% caucasians have HLA-B27
those that have the gene, 90% have AS and 80% have Reiter's

Well I am Caucasian with some distant American Indian, HlaB27Negative,Both me and my son have inflammatory arthritis that involves skin,I have Psoriatic Spodylitis,my son Dermatomyositis.
No mystery that there is an inheritable componant to these diseases.
