I'm 49 years old and just had my first experience with pain in what i think is sacrum joint and possibly f2 or f3 area. The sharp pain comes from the f2 /f3 area but a weak feeling in the left sacrum joint. I have been very active with horses since child hood , I thought i was in fairly good shape, but after picking a horses'foot up then and letting it down,I felt the pain as I attempted to straighten my back,i went slow and finally made it up and to the house,a week later and not much has changed.Considering going to md if not better soon. What is next and what excercise do you recommend?

Robert, go to your MD especially if you suspect something or have any changes in urinary or prostate function. If it is a minor injury, the pain will usually subside in a week or two as with a strain.Low grade inflammation in the SI joints can sometimes be hard to diagnose unless you have a flare. Most Doctors are going to prescribe antiinflammatories such as Motrin
or Celebrex for a short period of time.
Only x-rays or mri-s and mabey some other newer high tech imaging can see if you do indeed have
low grade or more advance inflammation and fusing.
A well trained Radiologist that reads for a Rheumatologist can usually see minor changes on
x-rays . If you do have Spondylitis they will probably prescribe sulfasalazine,Celebrex, depending on the Rheumatologist.
Best regards, Mike
