I drive a large grey Ford F-250 crewcab 4x4. You can't miss it. Today I pick up my son from school and I am sitting 3 cars back from the light waiting to turn right. I am over somewhat close to the curb in turn position but not so close I'd drive over the sidewalk making my turn...and this lady in a little sedan sped up on me and pulled between me and the curb. I was about to make my turn when it happened because the light finally turned green. I ended up having to turn left so I wouldn't hit her...straight is not an option at that intersection.
Then 15 minutes later I am at a small IGA to pick up a few things. I am following the lanes and arrows and have spotted an easy spot to get in and out of when this lady comes flying up on my right driving across all the parking spots in a couple of rows. I was truning right down the row I wanted when I spotted her. She stopped before she t-boned me but I gave her the ol "are you that stupid? look"
rain finally stops and the idots come out.

Jay, I have noticed that on some days that it is like something is in the air, I don,t drive much anymore, but the other day I went to town and had two cars pull out in front of me. I have a friend that drives a big diesel tanker rig and he talks about the people that will pull right in front of him when he is fully loaded. Sometimes people just don,t think. Mike

Jay, my youngest daughter took a job in Florida as a horse trainer (her first) and left the Silverado 2500 duromax that she had been using for transportation and hauling hores to the hors shows. As she left, she suggested that during my recovery from spinal surgery I start driving the pickup both for visability and for protection. I have to confess that I have gotten very comfortable with that truck in Atlanta area traffic and feel she was right on both counts as I seem to have incdidents like you describe on a daily basis. It seems that quite frequently when I get a look at the other driver, there seem sto see some strange, high tech looking device being held to the ear...

How do you make a woman go blind?
Put a windscreen in front of her. LOL I know its sexist but still funny.

Some people suck more at driving than others. I think toys like phones, radios, and newspapers are like wiggling yarn for a cat. They get completely distracted with their foot on the gas. Have you noticed the people that do stupid stuff on purpose and don't look at you but you know they know you are there? It's like they are looking out of the corner of their eye to see if you'll really stop. When I've driven nicer or cleaner vehicles, it happened all the time. It's like something goes through some peoples heads that tells them "They won't me. They've got something nice to loose." When I drive a dirty truck or an old truck thats really big, nobody messes with me. I've got nothin' to loose so go ahead..pull out and see what happens with a 1978 Dodge with squeaky brakes (assuming those noisy brakes are bad I guess) and 38" mud tires.

It's simple. Women cant drive. What else can I say. I know it sounds sexist, but hey, it's true. One thing they seem to do a lot is "cutting corners". You know, your pulling up to an intersection slowing to a stop and they come around from the right and cut that corner so sharp almost taking out your right front end. Thats just one example. I drive a bus so I see some crazy stuff. -Storm

Thankfully my bride is not typical. She even drove a tractor trailer in the Army.

Jay, my bride has taught a few rookies males how to drive there speed machines with red and blues a time or 2 when they couldn't help but be stupid. She is not typical. She can do reverse 180's, all kinds of neat tricks, and can hold an impressive point of incipiant skid without loosing where she is in a cloud of tire smoke. There's something that has always drawn my attention about a lady who was not stereotypical and could kick my arse at a few things

Jay, I am on the same page with you, there. Have pretty much raised both of my daughters to be that kind of woman....loking for one now but they are not particularly common...especially in my age range. mike
