Besides my hubby and kids, I have a hobby that I love. I have a 150gal Saltwater tank. I raise octopus. Think Im on my 210th octo. What amazing creatures they are. My daughter has taken over the task of hand feeding. Sadly I think Cloe(octo) is starting her dening process, which means she will lay eggs and then stop eating. Octos have a very short life span even in the wild, maybe 12-15 months for some species, longer for the bigger ones. Cloe will reach a lenght of 4 foot by next month. I can spend hours in front of my tank, it relaxes me and sometimes i forget all my torubles.
What hobbies does anyone else have??????

biofeedback...watching you're aquarium was also prescribed for a friend of mine with MS. That's good stuff.
I play video games with my son. lol Altho, we get pretty intense. Getting out into God's creation is very relaxing for me. When I start getting too tense and driving my wife crazy she tells me to call someone and go camping.

Baking...that does it for me. Second, cooking.
I don't know why but I really LIKE to do it. Unfortunatly because I have psoriasis I could never be a chef, cook, etc for the general public. Pity!

Raising Octopus sounds very interresting. Are they all the progeny of the original? I used to play the guitar and read alot, lately i can't do anything...just completley uninspired.
This website is currently what keeps me sane...never seen one like it...it's set up very well, it's the first virtual community that has comfortable scope. It's special.

WEll, Just guess what I like to do.... Ok, you guessed... horses horses horses horses! I can read about em, write about em, take pictures of em and ride em, train em, groom em, dream of em, watch em TV and the big screen, drawn em, paint em, feed em, muck their stalls (on a good stretch), watch em eat, bring them in from the pasture, let em out of their stalls, buy stuff for em, drive em, train em to drive, talk about em, go on trips to see em, watch em, ride em, train em but what I like best about em is socializing with em... connecting on a level that we don't usually connect with people. They are honest, sensitive and reflective. They can teach me a lot more than I can teach them.
My favorite horse right now is Emi. A morgan/tb cross who is very gregarious, mischievous, and opinionated, fabulously beautiful and talented. I often find her standing in the water trough up to her elbows in water in the summer time. She likes to open gates and let the other horses out.
Which means I have to find em, round em up, catch em and put em back in, too! Dayna

Isn't the plural of octopus octopi? I'll look that up.
I think that is the neatest that you do. It must be sad in a way though, with the life span being so short. But wow, what a way to relax and really enjoy the many blessings God bestows on us.
I have a really strange hobby. I used to be a pharmacy technician and for fun I look up controlled substances on wikepedia (sp?) and it's really interesting how so many came about, their original use, when they became illegal, why and what not.
Another hobby is reading. Jerry laughed so hard at me one time because he caught me reading the yellow pages (I didn't have any books or magazines laying around). One of my favorite books is Valley of the Dolls. I've read that 10 times or more. Gone with the Wind is a favorite. Still pissed that I wasted my time reading the sequel. They should have left that alone. I'm not a literary genius-I don't read the "fine" works, but I like Michael Crichton and Robin Cook, and some other guy, can't think of his name, but he writes scary books.
I don't like Stephen King too much-alot his stuff goes way off the deep end and ends up not making sense. BUT-if anyone wants to read a really trippy book by him-try Gerald's Game. It's freaky.
I think I've read every book on the Ramones.
Even though it's against my religion and faith, I would love to be able to read tarot cards. Just for the "cool" factor.
Jerry used to play the guitar, gave it up when we got busy with kids and now it's difficult with his AS. I would play tapes of him for people and they would argue that it wasn't him!! One of the things that attracted me to him at first.
Now it's video games. He plays Halo on xbox and all kinds of others with the kids. Jane and Rachel are starting to get pretty good. Kyle's learning-he's only two. I love that Jerry is so patient with teaching them and that he is able to spend that quality time. He can't run around outside with them, but he does spend alot of time with them. He enjoys reading to them too. He makes up his own story with the book and the kids go wild for that-he has a great sense of humor.
Oh, and if you can't tell, this board I guess is my biggest hobby as of late.
