How true!! My 10 year old has spent the last 4 nights with my mother and doesn't want to come home. It's a win-win situation right now, cuz there's less fighting between her and Rachel and Kyle (because of the age difference), and since my mother has been so sick lately, she's making a wonderful recovery having the company.

Yesterday they made homemade spaghetti and loaves of banana bread. They are working a jigsaw puzzle together. And Jane is getting the experience of what life was like growing up in the 30's and 40's. (I still like to listen to those stories, even though I can fill in the blanks when she forgets some of the details.

We are very blessed. My mother lives two blocks away, and my father died when I was 18, and we adopted my neighbor who is 82 who would actually be the same age as my father, so he is the surrogate grandfather and spoils my kids rotten.

Thanks Ms Jay! I'm going to copy this and send it to my mother. She'll love it!
